    Scarce U.S. Civil War McDowell Forage Cap with Original 5th Corp Badge
    This is an original and Scarce and Very Desirable U.S. Civil War McDowell Forage Cap with Its Original 5th Corp Badge Sewn On The Top In Fine Collection.  The cap is all original and complete. The cap has an excellent body throughout with only a couple of very tiny light stain spots. It has a wonderful even deep blue color throughout. The front brim, Eagle buttons, and strap are excellent throughout. The inside of the hat is also excellent which includes the original lining and sweat band. The original 5th Corp Badge is in fine condition and is hand sewn to the top of the cap. It has very tight seams inside and out.The 5th Corp Had fantastic History During The Civil War. They were formed in 1862 in The Army Of The Potomac and their engagements included:
    The Peninsula Campaign, Second Battle Of Bull Run, Battle Of Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg Where They Fought In The Wheat Field And Covered Little Round Top Against The Confederate First Corps of James Longstreet, Battle of Bristol Station, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania Courthouse, Cold Harbor, Siege Of Petersburg, And The Battle Of Five Forks.The 5th Cops Notable Commanders Were As Follows: Fitz John Porter, George E. Meade, George Sykes, Gouvemeur K. Warren, and Charles Griffin. This Is A Wonderful Example Of A Scarce U.S. Civil War 5th Corps McDowell Forage Cap That Has Super Civil War History From 1862 - 1865.
