    Description

This rotational molding machine (aka rotocaster) is of unknown origin, it may be a custom build or configuration, but it appears to be for use with larger hobbyist molds that use plaster, clay, porcelain, resins, etc. All-metal construction, it is extremely sturdy and quite heavy; the frame appears to be a custom weld job.
It is powered by a Dayton Rotogear 1/4hp 30rpm electric motor (Model 5K939) that drives a gear chain to a power shaft (with Dayton Electric bearings) that rotates a telescoping metal frame with two seating plates that accept a mold, with adjustable positions. These seats spin freely at their mounting points; when positioned so that a mold is diagonal across the two arms, the mold twists and turns by gravity on the angled axis as the entire frame rotates, providing the effect of a more complex biaxial roto molding machine.
One arm features 7 adjustment positions, the other arm features 12 adjustment positions. The two arms telescope from a minimum of 15" to a maximum of 24", accommodating a mold height of approximately 9-17 inches as measured between the two seating plates as, but that would vary according to where the seats are positioned on the arms.
There appears to originally have been a shroud covering the gear chain and motor, but is long gone. Motor runs great. The base/motor frame was cleaned and repainted; the mounting arms are in original condition.
