Presentation 1865 Wallet to Noted Patent Medicine Purveyor with Lincoln CdV

This very interesting wallet was presented as a Christmas 1865 gift to Dr. C. F. Basford of Cincinnati Ohio. Basford produced a patent medicine during the Civil War called "Basford's Home Guard" with featured wonderful graphics (our last photo is of that, found on the Web.)
Inside the cover of the wallet is a finely lettered presentation to the doctor. There are a number of well made compartments inside. The note book has only a couple of inscriptions, and they date to the 1890s.
One of these holds a CdV of Washington and Lincoln.
Wonderful and high quality wallet that should be researched to pin down the relationship between Dr. Basford and Mrs. Collins.
