    Description

    Wonderful grape scissor, or snipper, from the days of fine dining on the high seas!  The snipper would have been used to  separate an individual serving from a larger stem of grapes.  Possibly the grapes would have been brought to the table on a silver plated compote or serving tray (see my other listings).  Elkington manufactured the snipper in 1929 ( date code "s"); the plating is in excellent condition, the pivot joint is tight and all indications are that the snipper has been lightly used. The length is about 7 inches.  A scarce and unusual item for your Grace Line table setting.
