Description
The Germany 5 Deutsche Mark banknote from 1991 is part of the 1989 - 1999 series. Its obverse side features a portrait of German writer Bettina von Arnim, German text, buildings, cornucopia, and the Wiepersdorf estate. The reverse side depicts the iconic Brandenburg Gate, the bank logo, an open envelope, and the signatures of German writers Goethe and Clemens Brentano. The note is 122 x 62 mm in size and is equipped with a windowed security thread with demetalized 5 DM to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would reflect a watermark image of Bettina von Arnim and numeric 5.
