    Description

    This is a dug Civil War Union eagle plate.
    It has been modified by the soldier.
    He put an iron wire or nail through t
    he back of the loops.
    Not sure what he was doing with it.
    The plate is in excellent condition. It has a smooth chocolate brown patina.
    The lead in the back is complete with no pitting.
    It was dug years ago
    from the sandy soil at Cold Harbor VA.
    Found on private property with permission.
