    Description

    Up for bids is a unique Civil War Era wood box. The quality made box more than likely held some sort of medical instrument.  The only other idea I had was it could be for a telescope. The box measures roughly 9" long x 2 1/2" H x  2 1/2" W. The box has a lock, no key. The box has a large attractive brass shield. There are two cracks in the wood on one side although still solid.
