    Description

Civil War Era Medical Gutta Percha Long Nose Irrigation Syringe
This is an original Civil War era Medical Gutta Percha Irrigation Syringe. The syringe is made of Gutta Percha, maker unknown. The syringe is in very nice plus untouched condition with no breaks or damage. This type of syringe was used by Civil War Doctors to irrigate wounds and to inject powders into wounds and ears. The hard rubber “Gutta Percha” syringes are much more difficult to find intact than pewter specimens. The syringe measures 12” inches long, when plunger is fully inside with a 3/4” inch diameter cylinder. The tip of the Syringe is 7” long and is curved at the tip. This would make a great addition to a collection of antique medical devices and tools.
