This is a toy that offers sounds and textures to stimulate the brain of an infant. Neptune is the Baby Einstein sea turtle character from their Ocean Adventure collection. He has a soft velour plush head. His body has an electronic music box inside it which plays whenever baby presses his tummy. It plays either the sounds of sea gulls, the sounds of bubbling water, the sound of a buoy bell rocking on a wave or one of three different snippets of music. His two upper flipper legs are rubbery with bumpy textures on them to touch and his lower flipper legs make a crackling sound when touched. He is approx. 8” tall and has an attached yellow open-link to use if you want to hang this suspended from your baby's overhead mobile. The button batteries this requires are accessed by a velcro opening in the back of the body and there is also an on/off button there if you don't like noisy toys. This is very sturdy so I am going to stick it in a padded envelope for mailing and make the shipping lower than a box would be.
Condition:
This is in excellent used condition – almost like new. If you hold it up to your eye and look against the light, you can see a few very shallow surface scratches in the rubber flipper legs. But those could have been on there when I bought him because he and his brother turtles were hanging by their yellow clips from a display in the store – not in any box or packaging at all. The battery compartment is clean – no sign of corrosion – and I installed three new button cell batteries today before listing. This comes from a non-smoking, no pets home and it has no unpleaant odors. Also, there has been no illness in our home since 2019.
I think this looks so good because although my grandson liked the music a LOT and he liked the crackle sound when he touched the flippers, he was never the sort of child to put things in his mouth (which was actually a developmental problem he had...) There is no date on this label, but I bought this new in 2016 and it has not been used by any child other than my one grandson. Contact me with any questions and I will be happy to respond.
