This boat was purchased in 1970 by my father to keep at our cabin by a lake.
At that time the boat was refurbished with new paint in the original color, upholstery, and wiring.
In 1985 the original Chevy 283 was replaced with a rebuilt Chevy 350.
Only the long block was replaced, everything else from the original engine was retained.
During this engine replacement project the boat was repainted keeping the original color, including new bottom paint which was professionally applied at a boat works located at a west coast marina.
For the last 50 years this has been our family boat.
Four generations of our family have skied behind this boat.
We’ve recently bought a newer ski boat and it is sadly time to say goodbye to the Chris Craft.
The boat runs strong.
It has a hard wired battery charger; however it is not a floating type charger and should be replaced with a modern battery tender.
The boat has a bilge pump with both an automatic float switch and a two position switch on the instrument panel.
The boat will come with a spare prop.
The windshield is not on the boat but will be provided to the buyer.
The boat has current Idaho registration.
The trailer has California plates and has not been registered since 1970.
Since 1985-86 the trailer has only seen the same 1 mile stretch of dirt road between our cabin and the boat ramp at our lake.
The tires need to be replaced to reliably go any distance over the road.
The trailer wiring has not been used in many years.
It will be necessary to secure temporary trailer lights compatible with your tow vehicle before trailering this boat on the highway.
The boat is located at our cabin in Blaine County, Idaho.
The boat is available for inspection, test drive, and pickup only during a three week window in July (exact dates TBD).
The boat’s location is serviced by an unpaved Forest Service road and is a couple of miles from the highway.
The boat is advertised for sale locally and is subject to prior sale.
